This was a challenging project on many levels.  KU has some of the most stringent safety requirements of any entity in the US – their safety standards exceed even those of OSHA.  In order to complete this project, we were required to become Passport Safety Certified using a certified Passport Trainer. This is perhaps the most complex job APM has ever completed.  It consisted of stabilization in areas of base failure using full depth concrete patching.  In areas of severe alligator cracking where no base failure was detected, we used a combination of pre-tacked and mechanically tacked fabric stabilization methods.  After these phases were completed, we paved the entire site.  Read More
